Experience life amongst the trees with our wild camping & woodland glamping and rejuvenate in the wood fired sauna. For mornings full of birdsong and days rich with wildlife & adventure. If you'd like a little more luxury take a look at our beautiful holiday cottages with hot tubs, located a 5 minute drive away. Oakwood West wild camping is suitable for families, relaxed groups of friends, and solo travellers. It is not suitable for hen or stag parties, or loud groups. There are lots of opportunities for walking, cycling, sailing, kayaking & paddle boarding. Plus there are many great day trips including the Weald & Downland museum, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, visiting historic Bosham, Chichester, or Arundel, and many more!
Wild Camping
Wild camping at Oakwood West is for those with an independent spirit. Find your pitch amongst the trees and get closer to nature. While away the evening with your companions as the sounds of the woodland emerge and the stars ascend. Lie back in your hammock and relax as you become part of the wild life of the woods.
On site there is a toilet and hot shower for your use, a washing up station, and a drinking water tap. There are two designated fire pits. Oakwood West is off grid, with no electric or wi-fi available. Generally phone reception is good in the woodland. Due to the sensitive wildlife and surroundings, dogs are not permitted on site. There's an outdoor kitchen & a woodfired sauna available for hire.
Prices
£25.00 per pitch per night - Low season (October-February),
£35.00 per pitch per night - High season (March-September)
£45.00 per pitch per night - Peak season (Goodwood Events, summer bank holidays)
£12.00 for membership of the Greener Camping Club (one membership is required for someone staying in each group / pitch).
£5.00 supplement per person (above 4 ppl per pitch)
Each pitch receives a basket of firewood (for use in designated fire pits) and firelighters.
Additional firewood can be purchased at £7 per barrow.
Charcoal is available for purchase, small bag £7 and large bag £10.
Swedish candles are also available upon request at £5 each.
Basic essentials such as tea bags, eco shower gel etc may also be available to purchase from the campsite warden (when in residence).

Woodland Glamping
Stay in our beautifully appointed Woodland Wagon or traditional bell tent nestled into a quiet space in our woodland. As you wake you'll hear the song of birds and see the first light of the day as it gently lights up the woodland. Refresh in the site's hot shower and composting toilet and then enjoy the beautiful array of flora and fauna that live in the woodland. Majestic birds of prey soar through the sky as butterflies flit on the breeze. It's a place for meditation & escapism. Eat & relax at one of the two communal fire pits.
